9.A person A has only P chromosomes in all it's gametes .On the other hand ,another person B has chromosomes Q in half of the gametes and chromosomes R in half of the gametes .When chromosomes P and Q combine during fertilisation, a female zigotes is produced .On the other hand , combination of P and R chromosomes produces a male zygote.
i) Identify the following chromosomes.
a)P
b)Q
c)R
ii)Out of P and R ,which two chromosomes are of the same type?
iii)Which chromosomes is smaller in size ?

10.B1,B2 and B3 are three identical bulbs connected as shown in figure. When all the three bulbs glow, then the current of 3A is recorded by ammeter A.

What happens to the readings ofA1,A2 when the bulbs B2 get fused ?

11.Three incandescent bulbs of 100 W each are connected in series in an electric circuit. In another circuit ,another set of 3 bulbs of the same wattage are connected in parallel to the same source. Will the bulb in the 2 circuits glow with the same brightness ?Justify your answer.

12.Why print colours get separated when white light passes through a prism? How did Newton show that white light of Sun contains seven colours using two identical glass prism?
Draw are diagram to show the path of light when two identical glass prisms are arranged together in inverted position. With respect to each other and a narrow beam of white light is allowed to fall obliquely and one of the prisms.

13.Answer the following.
i)Define transpiration.
ii)Describe briefly the role of transpiration in translocation.
iii) In which type of conducting tissues unidirectional flow of water takes place ?

14.An element A reacts with water to form a compound B which is used in whitewashing. The compound B on heating forms an oxide C which on treatment with water gives back B.Identify A,B and C and give the reactions involved.

17.A person crossed pure breed doll plants with pure breed dwarf pea plants, and obtained pea plants of F1 generation . He then performed two types of experiments. In the first he self crossed the plants of F1 generation ( experiment A),and in the second he crossed the plants of F1-generation with the pure breed dwarf  parent plants (experiment B).
i)What would be the phenotypic of the plants in F1 generation.
ii)What would be the phenotypic and genotypic ratio of F2 generation in experiment A?
iii)How would the genotypic ratio differ in experiment B?
iv)How do we describe the phenotypic character that is expressed in F1 generation? What is the term given to the contrasting character?

18.i)Study the following cross showing self pollination in pea plant.
Fill in the blanks and anwer the question that follows
RRYY .                  × .  rryy .               Parents
Round yellow.     Wrinkled green
RrYy .                  × .  ..............       F1 generation

ii)Derive the combination of characters expected in the F2 progeny ?Also write the ratios.
iii) According to you, what is responsible for the inheritance of traits?

19.State the reason, why carbon can neither form C4+ cations nor C4- anion but forms covalent compounds. Also, state the reasons to explain, why covalent compounds
i)are bad conductor of electricity?
ii)have low melting and boiling points?

20.i)The following table shows object distance and focal length of three concave mirrors, anwer the following questions:-
S.no.        Object distance .     Focal length
1.                   0.30.                        0.20
2.                   0.10 .                       0.15
3.                   0.20.                        0.10
